The Gold Beetle can be found in the tree to the northeast of the Forest Maze. Using Kazan's Origin, Deva, you can shake the tree and the thing fall to the ground. Just push the action button on it and the creature will jump into attack. However, before the battle, I recommend doing a regular monster battle to get your AP up to 100 for the characters. As soon as you enter the battle for the Gold Beetle, it's a good idea to do an immediate variable art on it. This variable art alone is likely not going to kill the beetle unless you're still filled on a useuful cooked meal from camping.
As a reward, this creature gives the party a hefty amount of G! Unfortunately, the battle can only be done once - like the Bees in Legend of Legaia. So enjoy it while it lasts.
