Caruban starts off by painfully attacking Terra the wolf. After Terra has been knocked over, it will continue to surround and taunt Noa until Vahn helps Noa by going into battle against Caruban.
Caruban has really only one special attack, although all of its moves are shown with special names. These special named attacks are bite and flap. The real special attack that the player should watch out for is Fire Breath. It attacks both Noa and Vahn at the same time. If you are lucky enough to manage to spirit before it hits you, the attack should have a little effect. Otherwise it could take 130+ damage.
Personally, I would rather be attacked by this than his normal attacks. The normal attacks, not including flap and bite, can hit Noa over 250 hp! That's enough to faint her if she doesn't have max health already!
