The Curry Devil uses only one hit attacks, but they're equivalent to the attack damage of multiple attacks from other enemies (if not stronger). It hops while attacking, rather than running. In fact, it's really similar to the Mad Mantis, which is found in the same location.
The special attack used is Cross Beam, which sends a hot laser-like beam at the target of its choice.
