You first start climbing Mt. Rikuroa with Noa. Going through some of the caves, you will encounter falling stalactites, but none will hit you (it'll just be a close encounter). After reaching to the end of one of the caves, Noa will encounter Golem (Boss). After defeating the boss, the player can continue the rest of the way to the Genesis Tree.
About half way up the mountain, Terra will take a rest because of the aging wolf. But after reaching the top, she has the energy she needs to try and revive the Genesis Tree. Unfortunately, Caruban and Zeto come out from hiding to attack. They nearly kill Terra (at least the wolf) and then start to taunt Noa. The player will then shift to Vahn for control.
When Vahn reaches the top of the mountain (no bosses), there will be a memory crystal right before fighting Caruban. After that, the player can continue forward and help Noa. When Caruban has been defeated, the player can then revive the Genesis Tree, Noa receives Terra as a Ra-Seru on her arm, and the player will then be prompted to see how Drake Castle is doing down below.
When reading through some of the books in Drake Castle, the player will learn on how many people in the castle went to the Genesis Tree to pray for help. Unfortunately, nothing happened and the Mist continued to move towards the castle.
Later in the game, the player also learns that Mt. Rikuroa is the location that Terra found Noa dropped off by the Soren, in order to get away from the Mist. Terra attached herself to a nearby wolf and used its body to speak out to Noa and take care of her, rather than have her die in that location as a baby.
