The Ancient Wind/Water Cave can be visited before the Mist has actually cleared from it. But you are not able to do much in there except bug the Old Wizard by knocking on the door over and over. Unfortunately, you cannot go inside the room at all because he'll just keep telling you to go away. After the Mist has cleared, he shows no sign or knowledge of you knocking on the door.
In the Old Wizard's room, to the far west, there is a large lever that you can pull. The set of two stone doors in the east side of the cave will open if you pull on this lever and you will be able to continue on through the Ancient Wind/Water Cave, to where you will find the Old Water Witch.
After the Old Water Witch forces you to sleep, you will encounter a unique dream. All three heroes are actually having the dream simultaneously. The dream takes place in Octam, where Hari speaks to all three heroes for the first time. The dialog is as follows:
My name is Hari! I inhabit a world between the dream world and the human world. I have a message for those in the human world and who are with the Ra-Seru. They are the true words of Rem. Go to Octam, the ancient yet eternal city, far away in the heart of the Sebucus. There, compassionate human beings will learn the true meaning of all dreams!
After the dream, Gala claims to have the dream "again," therefore pointing out that the dream was once seen before.
