Re: too small
That has nothing to do with the topic. >________>
This is a terrible thread about how I thought Draken Kingdom is too small, and asking for opinions on the matter. That was completely unneeded.

Re: too small
Are the other kingdoms that much bigger?
Sebucus has Jeremi, Vidna, Octam, Ratayu, and the Water Cave, again, if you want to call that a "town".
Karisto has Sol, Buma, the Soren Camp, and then Conkram, Karisto Station, and the Usha Research Center sort of count.
And Drake Kingdom does have Hunter's Spring.
So, while Drake Kingdom might be smaller, it's certainly not smaller by that much.

Re: too small
Well I think I was referring to Difficultly + Time it takes to leave the continent + amount of development characters got in said location.
By that crappy formula, the ranking would be: Karisto>>S.I.>>>Draken (biggest emotionally turning event I can think of for Draken was when Terra-Wolf was killed).

Re: too small
I can agree on the order there with regard to time to beat the region.
I think the time for all three is not too far off in a speed run, depending on what region(-s) you consider the post-Absolute Fortress material.
I think it takes to a time of about 2:30 for Drake Kingdom, to 5:20 or so for Sebucus, and to around 9:00 to clear Cort 1, and then about 1:20 or so to clear the last two dungeons; most of this is spent in the two boss battles since they are long and characters are weak.

Not only are there less towns, but the Drake area is smaller in general. You don't have to walk for five or ten minutes straight to reach the next town like Sebucus.

Re: too small
I think one of the great things about the game is that it can really trick you into thinking that the game is over with Zeto. Sure, Songi has escaped, but you've explored every part of the map, gotten all of your characters, and defeated Zeto and freed Drake Kingdom from the Mist.
And then you go back to Biron Monastery and Zopu mentions two other regions of the world, and you're like "I'm only through Act 1, and there's still that much more to go."

Re: too small
I thought the game would be over after Zeto. A lot of RPGs I've played reveal the main bad guy at the beginning of the game, which is exactly what they did with Zeto.

Re: too small
I don't remember what I thought, since I first played this game over thirteen years ago.
But it's definitely the case that not all RPG's are like that. Still, this game does a good job of presenting Zeto as the Big Bad, only to reveal that he's a mere servant of the real villain after you defeat him. I think it's not until after you defeat him that you even learn who the villain really is.
